◆ Title: |
The Annual Exhibition of Taiwan’s National
Digital Archives Program |
|
|
|
|
◆ Goals: |
The National Digital Archives Program
(NDAP) is a unique nation-wide research and development program in Taiwan
as it combines humanities with information technologies in the pursuit of
an ideal information society. Of the nine National Science and Technology
Programs sponsored by the National Science Council in Taiwan, this is the
only one with a focus on humanities and social sciences.
The goals of the NDAP are manifold and embrace an ultimate mission to preserve
and sustain the cultural civilization of mankind. Its main objective is
to promote and coordinate content digitization and preservation at leading
museums, archives, universities, research institutions, and other content
holders in Taiwan.
This annual exhibition of NDAP will present the digitization results from
the participating institutes for the last few years. It is expected that
the exhibition will bring more public interests in digital archiving, as
well as the NDAP endeavor. The exhibition is expected to further extend
NDAP’s efforts in invigorating Taiwan’s cultural, content and value-added
industries, as well as in providing a venue for international co-operations.
